What we loved most about this project is the the client was not afraid to take risks and trusted our vision for the space as well. They let us be bold and do things that were unexpected.
To start with, we worked with the existing bed frame to add drama to the room. For some added dimension, we chose a Magnolia wallpaper and painted the rest of the walls black. With a white oak floor, the dark hues we’d chosen never made the room seem too overwhelming. For added warmth and deeper tones, we went with a faded oriental-style rug.
We didn’t stop at the drama of black walls. For the lamps on the nightstand, we added some concrete and brass for a fun, textural element. We loved how they stood against the wallpaper!
Leading into the master bath is a sliding bar door in gray, to blend with the wallpaper and light, cool tones of the flooring.
This room wouldn’t be complete with out that POP of color, so we accessorized the bed with an emerald green pillow cover. It helped make this room feel fun, sexy, modern, and a little bit moody - just the right blend for the client’s style.
